CBS Outdoor launches cross-track projection

Nestlé, Sky, Magners, Paramount, InBev and Dewynters have signed as the official launch partners of Cross-track Projection (XTP), CBS Outdoor’s revolutionary digital media opportunity on the London Underground – a world first in terms of its screen size and sophistication.

Safety

The safety of our employees, our contractors, and members of the public affected by our activities, is of the utmost importance to CBS Outdoor. We have established effective safe systems of work and Safety Management System, which is backed up by continuous assessment of risks to identify and prioritise improvement activities. Supported by a dedicated professionally qualified Health and Safety team, we continually audit ourselves, and our contractors, to ensure compliance with our high safety standards. A member of the British Safety Council, CBS Outdoor was awarded the ROSPA Silver award for safety performance in 2005/6.

Quality

CBS Outdoor is ISO 9001:2000 certified across all of its Delivery and customer service teams. As an organisation CBS Outdoor is committed to total quality. This encompasses the finished quality of posted campaigns, the quality of service of all interactions with our customers and accurate posting confirmation to our clients. Our approach is to assure quality through effective and robust processes supported by regular internal and independent audits and a culture of continuous improvement. We apply the principle of 'right first time' and this applies equally to subcontractors and in-house activities.

Environment

CBS Outdoor is ISO 14001:2004 certified and recognises that our activities have environmental implications. The company therefore pursues a policy to minimise damage by preventing pollution from any substance used in our activities, which are capable of causing harm.

We have embarked upon a major programme of change that will introduce innovative glueless posting techniques in place of traditional glue based posting. This, combined with the replacement of our vinyl based bus advertising for recyclable cardboard will allow us to achieve in excess of 90% recyclability across our displays. This will reduce the burden upon landfill.

Wherever practical, we will re-use materials or recycle through reliable contractors. Environmental impact is always considered as part of the decision-making process for all CBS Outdoor activities. In addition, all new digital/electrical inventory is WEE compliant and is significantly more efficient thereby reducing power consumption.
