Welcome to CBS Outdoor!
As of the 1st January 2007, Viacom Outdoor had been rebranded as CBS Outdoor, in line with its US parent company.
“We do business with advertising clients and media groups that conduct business around the world so it’s important that our brand remain consistent across all borders,” said Leslie Moonves, President and Chief Executive Officer of CBS Corporation. “As one of the fastest growing assets in our portfolio, Outdoor is the perfect vehicle to enhance CBS’s global brand.”
“We are delighted to be a part of the CBS brand,” said International CEO Tom Goddard. “CBS’s 80-year history of leadership in U.S. media is an asset we believe we can leverage internationally with great success.”
CBS Outdoor’s international rebranding campaign will be reflected in the 2007 brochures and ratecards released to clients next month. Corporate identification, advertiser-facing contracts and franchise contracts will also reflect the change.
In the UK, CBS Outdoor sells advertising on buses, trams, and national rail media and the London Underground, for which it recently won an 8.5 year sales contract. CBS Outdoor’s International portfolio includes media interests in Ireland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and mainland China. CBS Outdoor is also the premier outdoor company in North America, with market leading positions in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
CBS Outdoor is owned by CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS.A and CBS). CBS Corp. is a mass media company with operations in virtually every field of media and entertainment, including broadcast television (CBS and The CW – a joint venture between CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Entertainment), cable television (Showtime and College Sports TV Networks), local television (CBS Television Stations), television production and syndication (CBS Paramount Network Television and CBS Television Distribution Group), radio (CBS Radio), advertising on out-of-home media (CBS Outdoor), publishing (Simon & Schuster), digital media (CBS Digital Media Group) and consumer products (CBS Consumer Products).
