Transforming the Tube
New developments across the network
In what will become a legacy project for London in the run up to the 2012 Olympics, CBS Outdoor is set to transform the advertising on the Tube.
As part of a £72m investment programme, more than 31,000 non-digital sites are being replaced with new slim-line poster frames, designed to create a gallery of advertising throughout ticket halls, corridors and station platforms.
More than 2,000 digital sites will also be installed, creating the world’s largest single digital advertising network. Sold through the CBS Outdoor digital team Alive, this will include Cross-track Projection (XTP), Digital Escalator Panels and Digital LCD screens, installed throughout high traffic areas. These new formats will create exciting opportunities for brands to build higher levels of consumer engagement through more relevant day part and tactical messaging.
With the introduction of a revolutionary new ‘Dry Posting’ technology developed in partnership with 3M, traditional paper posters will be look even better and allow some weekly copy changes.
Over 3 million passenger journeys are made across the network every day and nearly 90% of these consumers on the move say that they positively welcome the advertising on the network.
