Reaching Consumers on the Move in the Midlands

At the heart of the UK, the Midlands is home to 7.7million adults. It includes Birmingham, the UK’s second largest city, which is packed with shops, bars, clubs and restaurants, and Birmingham International, the country’s second largest regional airport. CBS Outdoor advertising is the most welcomed of all advertising opportunities in the Midlands.

A recent survey has shown that 78% of people prefer buses and 64% prefer National Rail with advertising. Only 8% enjoy radio adverts and only 18% welcome adverts in newspapers.

Advertising Opportunities

Bus

Advertise on the most seen medium in town and capture consumers where they shop, work, eat and play. Bus advertising can prompt purchase; 80% of people have followed up a bus advert in some way. Bus advertising delivers far wider coverage than local press and radio - 62% of people across the region notice adverts on buses each week, while only 44% of people listen to commercial radio and 36% read a regional evening newspaper.

National Rail

Deliver your message to an affluent and upmarket audience with advertising on First Great Western, Chiltern and GNER rail networks, as well as on-train opportunities on the London Midland and East Midlands rail networks where 105,000 journeys are made each day. Compare this to just 71,255 daily sales of the Birmingham Mail. The average traveller dwell time on platform is seven minutes and new research shows that the longer your audience spends with your campaign message, the more likely it is to be remembered and acted on.

Midland Metro

The Midland Metro is a unique way to target residents and visitors to the West Midlands. The Metro network carries an estimated 10 million passengers each year between Birmingham and Wolverhampton. En route it calls at the main shopping areas and transport connections for Merry Hill, West Bromwich, Dudley and Walsall and 25% of weekday users are aged 18-24.
