The South East of England is home to over nine million adults, with 72% more people per square mile than anywhere else in the UK. Including the affluent commuter counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, Kent, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Sussex, it has a total household income in excess of £180billion. The South East has seen a population growth over the last twenty years that is twice that of the rest of the UK. It has 14% more disposable income than the UK average, with 79% of people working. Bus

The number of annual bus journeys outside London has increased. Over five million people in the South East notice
bus advertising each week, making it the most seen medium in town. New research (The Road to Enlightenment 2007) shows 86% of people can spontaneously recall a specific bus advert and 80% of consumers have responded to an advert they have seen on a bus. Buses create impact on the high street, give brand stature, act as a community notice board

National Rail

South East train users are wealthy. 60% are between the ages 26-54 and 63% are in full time work – almost three quarters of these in professional occupations. Rail travellers make habitual journeys, with up to half of them travelling at least once a week on their local network.
